Chocolate-dipped strawberries. Oysters. Figs. Even… salmon and beets?!
Many common foods have long been thought to boost libido and enhance a person’s sex drive, and alcohol has long been a part of that list. Champagne or Prosecco have bubbles that tickle the nose and that carbonation — in moderation, of course — can speed up the delivery of alcohol to the bloodstream.
The misconception, though, is that alcohol is an aphrodisiac. Surprise! Is it actually a depressant, but it does help to lower inhibitions. (But when you have a tasty drink that pairs well with those oysters or strawberries, it’s easy to see why they got the reputation they did.)
While drinks are a common way to relax and try to get in the mood for sex, too much alcohol will have the exact opposite effect. The energy it takes for a body to process large amounts of alcohol draws blood flow to aid digestion, which means there is less to flow below the belt to arouse the genitalia. That makes it much more difficult to get in the mood and to literally get the sexual juices flowing.
Thankfully, the modern miracles of sexual science means there are workarounds to help us enjoy the tastes without the troubles. These days, there are flavored lubricants to give all those sensual and beloved aphrodisiac flavors without the pitfalls of food comas or calories. Even better, there are flavored lubricants that mimic the delicious tastes of popular cocktails without the issues of hangovers or the dreaded “whiskey dick.”Some of the leading cocktail-inspired flavored lubricants come from #LubeLife, Where Happy Hour Meets Happy Ending. Each version brings to mind relaxing afternoons with a chilled glass in your hand. You can enjoy a staycation from the comfort of your bedroom — or bathroom, or family room, or den… basically whatever room you and your partner like to get it on! Close your eyes and imagine pulling up a chair at your favorite spot to enjoy your drink of choice.
Explore new #LubeLife Mojito, Mai Tai, Pina Colada, and Sex on the Beach flavored lubricants, or mix and match to your heart’s content with all flavors in the Four Drink Minimum collection.
These concoctions can help to add a little flavor to your foreplay. The water-based lubricants also help to minimize discomfort during penetrative sex by imitating and enhancing the body’s natural moisture, without feeling sticky or staining bedding. The #LubeLife Cocktails formulas are also free of parabens, propylene glycol, added sugars, gluten, and hormones.
Although the lubricants feature a water-based formula, they are still great to use for anal sex by providing a slick surface to reduce friction. An added bonus is they clean up easily with a little soap and water. All of the Cocktails lubricants are safe for use with natural rubber, latex, polyurethane, and polyisoprene condoms.
Just one lick will have you inviting friends to have a drink… on you. You’re welcome!
Fun with Cocktail Flavors and Food
But there’s no need to think of these solely as tasty lubricants. (Which, obviously, they are!) They can also be a bit of a tease to the main event. Try something unique together by adding the Cocktails flavors to real alcohol-based drinks (or virgin versions), or even ice cream for some PG-rated fun.
Pour a touch of the Water-Based Pina Colada Flavored Lubricant over some coconut sorbet, pineapple sorbet, or a pineapple coconut ice cream. The Water-Based Mai Tai Flavored Lubricant can be paired with orange sorbet or lime sherbet, and the lime sherbet can pull double duty as the base for the Water-Based Mojito Flavored Lubricant. And as for the Water-Based Sex on the Beach Flavored Lubricant? Try drizzling it on some peach ice cream or orange sherbet. Experiment with flavor combinations and conduct taste tests by trying some on the ice cream and compare it to some you lick off your lover. Dessert never needs to be boring again!
Have Your Lube on Me!
You could also take this opportunity to wow your lover with some flamboyant bartender moves. Enhance the flavors of the fun and fruity favorites with a few squirts of the Cocktails lubes. Invite your partner to help you create these passionate potions so you can each sample as you go.
A couple things to think about with these recipes… First, you can make non-alcoholic versions of any and all of these! Mocktails are just as delicious as cocktails in our opinion. Also, note that you don’t *have* to add the lube to the beverage itself. You can have your drink and the corresponding lube-only “lube cocktail” on the side. This way you can keep one for drinking – and the other for body-safe playing.
(As tempting as it might be, it’s never a good idea to put anything containing sugar, for instance, up inside any genitalia. The temptation might be to use your lube-infused cocktail as lube itself… and that’s not a good idea!)
