#AdventuresatHome: How to Bring Sexual Spontaneity From Your Vacation Into Your Bedroom

There's something special about a vacation. Maybe it's the novelty of a new setting. Maybe it's a luxurious hotel stay. Maybe it's the warmth of the sun on your skin and the feel of sand between your toes. It's a thrill that gets your heart racing, stoking the passion between you and your partner.

Whatever the case may be, a romantic getaway means lowered inhibitions, deeper engagement, and better sex. In fact, 58% of couples report feeling more adventurous while on vacation, while the same percentage report being more sexually active.

Over the last two years, however, worldwide travel has at times come to a near standstill. Couples around the globe are more reluctant to travel in recent months. The vacation has officially turned into a staycation. Now, with winter just around the corner, many couples are looking to exercise their wanderlust —as well as their lust for one another— in new and exciting ways.

Just because you find yourself housebound this season, that doesn't mean you and your loved one can't spark a little fire at home. With proper planning, and the right products from #Lubelife, you can have your own sexual adventures in the safety of your own environment.

Holiday Intimacy

As it turns out, certain holidays —the kind that would normally precipitate travel— are more effective at getting you in the mood. In fact, holidays are the ideal time for intimacy according to the numbers. 38% of all couples say they are more sexually active during major holidays.

The most popular was Valentine's Day of course, with 33% of the vote, followed by Christmas and Halloween. A sizable 36% said other holidays, so we're going to say that New Year's Day and Thanksgiving are up there on the list.

Tis' the season!

Setting the Mood

Vacations aren't just about travel; they're about trying new things. That can be difficult to achieve in your day-to-day surroundings though. In fact, only 27% of couples said that they'd tried some form of holiday-based role-playing. It would seem that kind of play is prime territory for a staycation. Before you launch into a wild sexual adventure at home, make sure that you've set the mood appropriately. That means fostering a sense of togetherness and intimacy before taking the plunge.

You can easily replicate the adventurous spirit of vacation at home by prefacing your passion with a romantic date night. Whether you slow dance all night in the living room, organize a wine-tasting party garnished with strawberries and chocolate in your kitchen, or have a lazy breakfast in bed, the combinations are quite literally endless. Look for something new and exciting that gives you an excuse to hug, kiss, and touch!

The Importance of Touch

When it comes to setting the mood, the importance of touch cannot be understated. Touch is central to foreplay, and sex itself. You can start stoking the fire long before you hit the bedroom. While a majority of couples were more sexually adventurous while on vacation, 18%, were unsure having never experienced the passion of a romantic getaway themselves. This can often be attributed to an overall lack of passion in the relationship, and passion starts with touch.

To help set the mood, and transition from date night to full-on intimacy, start with hugs, kisses, and cuddling. Recapture the thrill and excitement of your youth by making out with your significant other. Or give your partner a sensual, full-body massage instead. Just make sure to lubricate any sensitive parts first!

Exercise Together

If you want to get the blood pumping between the sheets, start by getting it pumping in the streets. Or your home gym.

It is a proven fact that exercise raises key hormone levels in both men and women, sparking sexual desire in the process. Try exercising together on your staycation. As an added bonus, you may even get to see your partner in form-fitting workout clothes!

Be Daring

The safety of your home environment ultimately lets you and your significant other get away with things you wouldn't normally be able to get away with at a hotel, campground, or resort. One of the best ways to fire up your mutual engines is to be bold and daring during your staycation. Try making a no clothes rule. As long as you are in the house, you and your partner aren't allowed to wear anything! There's no quicker way to the bedroom.

A Change of Scenery

The bedroom is where normal, day-to-day intimacy occurs for many couples. You might not realize it, but the familiarity and routine of your normal sex life might be getting in the way of deeper passion. If a vacation is all about a change in scenery, change the scenery.

Instead of heading to the bedroom, why not get wild on the couch? What about in the shower? Try having sex against a window or on the kitchen counter, if you're feeling particularly adventurous. The point is to change your frame of reference and open yourself up to new experiences.

Enhancing Your Pleasure

Mood, setting, and intimacy are all important factors but don't forget to bring the  right tools for the job.

Looking to add a layer of spice to your intimacy? Try introducing a new sex toy or set of lingerie during your staycation. Not only will it heat things up, but you might also discover a hidden fantasy you never knew your partner had.

When it comes time to go wild and celebrate your passion, make sure that you and your partner are properly lubricated. Instead of the plain, unflavored lube that's been around for decades, try a flavored lube like Lube Life's Cotton Candy lubricant. This 100% edible lube is FDA approved, toy and condom compatible, and guaranteed to add an element of excitement to your staycation fun!
